She jumped up excitedly as the car approached the gate. She ran up to the window and looked at me with thankful eyes. I opened the door and she ran out into the sun, onto the grass and bounded up to her friends, big and small.
She walked us around the pond, introducing us to the wildlife she knows so well. The sun beamed down on her as she ran around us and played. And even though she couldn't talk, we knew she was happy.
