Down in the River

After attending Tim Coulson's photography workshop (see previous post), Stephen and I wandered down a narrow dirt path and explored our beautiful Australian bushland.

We were only an hour out of Sydney though it seemed we were in a totally new world. I am usually surrounded by the tall concrete jungle of the CBD and I find that us city slickers naturally fail to appreciate how splendorous the natural world is, it is almost a reflex to forget what we have. The great outdoors is such a beautiful place and the great thing I discovered is that you needn't look far to find it.

We took some portraits of each other and then we let our adventurous spirits take over as we wandered through the bush, picking up little gumnuts along the way.

"But ask the animals, and they will teach you,
or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you;
or speak to the earth, and it will teach you,
or let the fish in the sea inform you.
Which of all these does not know
that the hand of the Lord has done this?
In his hand is the life of every creature
and the breath of all mankind" --- Job 12:7-10[NIV]
