The Simple Things

Waking up to fresh sun streaming through your blinds is enough to get anyone in a good mood.

What a glorious Sunday morning it has been. Woke up bright and early (which is unusual for me on a Sunday) and spent my time sitting outside in the warm sun writing, blogging and thinking about my week to come. My best friend then picked me up and we enjoyed a glorious breakfast made up of ricotta, blueberries, poached eggs and mushrooms (not all together of course).

We spoke about the past, the present and the future and what it all means to us. She tried to convince me who to vote for in the upcoming election, and I tried to convince her that a holiday will be good for her. Not sure how convincing we both were. One thing for sure though is that she convinced me that I have something, I have worth and value and I am not to take myself for granted. She helped me to appreciate the little things in life, the simple things and I helped her realise her worth, and that there is a reason people love her, a good reason too.

I came home smiling and chirpy and decided to appreciate the simple things around my home. Here are a few of them

  1. A beautiful bunch of flowers given to me by Stephen yesterday to cheer me up :)
  2. Bright blossoms that only bloom the week before September (Spring is coming guys...get excited!)
  3. A spider with the most perfect location for a home. I am a little jealous. Just look at that view
  4. My furry little man. So poised and perfect. He seems so content with his life. I envy him.
