8/20 - One Portrait. One Story

So I've decided to start my own personal project, inspired by the lovely Jodi at Che and Fidel.
For the last 20 weeks of the year, I will be taking a portrait of a person I know, meet or come into contact with. One portrait each week, one story each week.

Meet Patience

To be honest with you all, Patience wasn't supposed to be my subject for the week. I was supposed to go out on the long weekend and meet lots of new and interesting people but unfortunately time got the better of me and I found myself wondering where the days went.

These last few weeks have been super busy. Busier than usual and I'm struggling to keep up with it all. My anxiety is back, which is annoying. I thought I kicked anxious-Sam in the butt earlier this year, turns out I merely scared it away for a little while.

Though, throughout all this craziness I am thankful. I am thankful for this blogging world that I am slowly becoming apart of, I am thankful that I am busy with taking photos of families (something that I didn't think would happen for another few years), and I am thankful that I have found something that makes me happy. Taking photos has helped me overcome a lot, it takes me away from the stresses of my week and takes me to new places, places I want to escape to forever.

For example, I was stressing about undertaking my first family shoot with Patience and her parents this weekend. I love taking photos but perhaps professional shoots weren't my thing. I wasn't sure. I was anxious. Then I saw those big blue eyes and she smiled at me and all my fears and worries went away. How could someone feel anxious when looking at that face. My heart was granted peace and I continued on to what was, I think, a successful shoot (photos coming soon).

I am very grateful to be doing what I love and to have people who appreciate what I love. There is something so special about that. So thank you to this little bub for making my week a little bit more peaceful.

And I am so happy to hear that blogging, and doing what you're doing is making you happy. It's what we all need in life!
