Family || Patience

Getting into photography was something I have always wanted to do. I grew up with a camera latched around my wrist. In high school, I was always the girl who took photos at the swimming carnival, or someone's sweet 16th or just randomly around the playground. I was that girl. Did I know what I was doing or what goes into a good photo? No. All I knew was I liked capturing moments, moments in people's lives that they could cherish for years to come.

I first asked Georgia if I could take photos of her family a couple of weeks ago. I've known Georgia for several years now, so I knew her little family would be a great place to start my journey. It was daunting to put myself out there for the first time as a 'photographer' rather than someone who just takes photos. What if people didn't like my photos? What if I wasn't good enough?

I've learnt that becoming a photographer means putting all those fears and worries away and focusing on what is truly important - your subjects.

These are the photos I took of Georgia, Matt and their beautiful daughter Patience. My first 'proper' family shoot. I'm pretty happy with how these images turned out and it was a joy to hear that Georgia and Matt did too. I feel so much love through them which is what any family should be about. I love the love these guys possess - its awesome!

Thank you Georgia, Matt and Patience for kicking this journey off! I'm looking forward to seeing where it takes me

    1. Oh me too! I love using black and white - there is something that a lack of colour brings to a photo I find, something mysterious but captivating.

  6. these photos are great! I have always been the annoying one with the camera haha People get annoyed of me because I am always lagging behind because I have to capture certain moments. But later on the appreciate it when the event was documented. I am no pro but it really is just something I love!

    1. Thanks Hailey! It's good to know there are others like me around. I'm always telling people to stop so I can take a photo. You dont have to be a pro to love what you do. If anything, that's what makes you a pro. It's all about the passion you have :)
