Inspired: Gym Junkie

On Monday I went to the gym for the first time in years. YEARS!

I don't exercise. It's just not one of my things. I don't really enjoy it.

Some people love the adrenalin they get when running or the sweat build up formed when they lift weights. Me? I'd rather just lounge around in my element, watching movies, having coffee and editing photos - that is me.

Though my plan never seems to work by the time Summer comes around (only a month away now). You see it turns out its harder to lose weight when you don't exercise...go figure?

On Monday, my friend joined a gym and one of the perks is that you can bring a friend for free. I am that friend. I'm not complaining though. Using my friend for her gym perks is kind of awesome. What isn't awesome though was the realisation I made after spending 5 minutes on the treadmill - I am unfit, very unfit.

It was something I had always known but just avoided thinking about. In a gym however you can't avoid it. There are athletes on either side of you running 10x the speed and incline than you and then you have me working up a sweat during my warm up. Oh boy...I need to fix this, and not for my physical appearance, but for my general health.

I have 1 month till Summer and 1 month to get fit. Yikes!

What kind of fitness/health regimes do you follow?

  1. The gym! What a wonderful place to go to after school and vent to some friends about what has been happening. Loving it!

    1. It is isn't it! Still trying to get adjusted to a 'healthy' lifestyle but I think that baby steps are key!

  2. I am very much like that myself. I hate the gym. I just find it boring to be honest. I would much rather have a glass of red wine, editing photos, and blogging than to go to the gym for an hour. If I have any chance of staying fit, it would be through sports... I stay fit by playing sports though... be it ice hockey, snowboarding, or dragon boating.

    1. It's good to know that I'm not the only one, though I do envy you and your ability to play sports. Unfortunately for me I am hopeless at all sports - I just can't coordinate myself in the correct way haha

  3. I can't stand exercise, in particular running. I was counting down the days until p.e. was finished in school, but I do enjoy going for the occasional walk :)
