Fly away

Sometimes I wish I were a bird so I could fly away.

Flying away for me wouldn't mean escape. It would mean exploration. Finding new corners of the world I live in, corners I didn't even know existed, corners that would enrich my soul from the bottom up.

If I wanted to, I could sit for a while and enjoy nothingness. I could just sit on the wire and stare into the unknown horizon before me and whistle sweet songs in my head while I watch the others fly by, getting along with their busy days.
Or I could just be content with being human, with not having wings to fly and talons to walk upon. I could be content with what I have because what I have is an endless amount of good. I keep forgetting that.

...and so my momentary daydream comes to an end.

  3. This reminds me of feeding the birds at Currumbin in QLD :) Beautifully written, we all want to fly away sometimes... I particularly love the use of black and white vs. colour :)
