The dust of the ocean slowly filled the air as we walked along moonlit rocks. It was like snow. It seemed to be coming from the sky, falling slowly onto the earth. We stuck out our tongues to try and taste this falling specimen. A salty flavour filled our mouths.
The ocean was alive today. It invited us to come and join it in the early stages of nightfall. We sat and watched distant lights flicker and the moon dance over the tide that was, ever so slowly, coming in towards us. We closed our eyes and listened to the sounds of waves crashing against the shore. The dust continued to fall as we did so. We let ourselves drift away and for just that moment we felt apart of the ocean. For just that moment we were taken off the land we lived on. We were taken away from the sinful, dirty, land and taken to a place so pristine and beautiful.
Oh how I yearn for moments like these.
Lovely photographs!
ReplyDeleteThanks Claire!
Deleteyou are the best storyteller and the photographs that follow after that read was such a wonderful little addition <3
ReplyDeleteThank you. I love that you called me a storyteller. I am slowly trying to improve in my writing
DeleteYour writing is so lovely, I yearn for moments like that as well. The ocean can be so surreal.

Thanks lovely Hannah!
DeleteThis post is probably the most captivating one I've read in a long time. Your writing is impeccably in tune with your photos, and it surely goes to show that you're an excellent storyteller (which Stephanie mentioned above). And that's enough for me, I'm instantly a new reader. I look forward to more of your work in 2014, and have a happy new year! x
