Willingly.
I could have gone out, and I would have gone out, but the attraction of spending time alone was too great to turn down.
You see I don't do it enough and I really should. We all should.
This week, I have read many other bloggers being thankful for what they have in their individual days. I guess it made them feel more appreciative of what they have rather than being upset for what they didn't have.
They were right.
Tonight I wrote down a short list of things I was thankful for today. Some were general things I will always be thankful for, some were more specific, inspired by the events that unfolded in the last 24 hours.
Writing that list I felt a wave of contentment wash over me and it felt beautiful. The candle burned bright and warmed my innermost soul and I felt good, a type of good that I don't often feel.
Thankfulness, it seems, is a cure. It is a flame that lights up the darkest of nights and the deepest of pains.
Tonight I am thankful....and tomorrow I will be too.
^^ let's pretend I know how to spell...
^^ yes. good thai food - its a blessing.

Meg - this may be the sweetest comment yet. Thank you.
DeleteI am super thankful for you and your loving thoughts and messages you send my way. Who knew what wonderful friends I could form through my blog. You're amazing <3
I started writing in a journal at night...I call it my "wins" from the day... to notice progress - even the small little steps so that it's not only about getting to the "goal"... so many little steps to be taken in between. - Love that shot with a focus on your ring. You are very lucky.
ReplyDeleteLuck is so subjective. I think I've falled into some great things but I've crawled out of a dark place as well. Its been a wonderful journey and I cant wait to keep moving forward.
DeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one to keep track of my blessings!

ReplyDeletei treasure these dearly. the candle lighting and imprint of writing on the page is superb.

That last photo is just gorgeous. I value my alone time, too, and find that an evening by myself at home can be so much more stimulating than going out into a crowd.
