Thankfulness

My night tonight was spent alone.

Willingly.

I could have gone out, and I would have gone out, but the attraction of spending time alone was too great to turn down.

You see I don't do it enough and I really should. We all should.

This week, I have read many other bloggers being thankful for what they have in their individual days. I guess it made them feel more appreciative of what they have rather than being upset for what they didn't have.

They were right.

Tonight I wrote down a short list of things I was thankful for today. Some were general things I will always be thankful for, some were more specific, inspired by the events that unfolded in the last 24 hours.

Writing that list I felt a wave of contentment wash over me and it felt beautiful. The candle burned bright and warmed my innermost soul and I felt good, a type of good that I don't often feel.

Thankfulness, it seems, is a cure. It is a flame that lights up the darkest of nights and the deepest of pains.

Tonight I am thankful....and tomorrow I will be too.
^^ let's pretend I know how to spell...
^^ yes. good thai food - its a blessing.
and also, I am so thankful for all of you!

What are you thankful for today?

  1. Well, I am grateful that gratitude is spreading! I know that blogging always makes me feel great after; noting down things that made your day can do wonders. Lovely to see you've taken a step ahead and basked in your own warm company.
And would you guess what - today is supposedly International Happiness Day! What a coincidence. :)

  21. I started writing in a journal at night...I call it my "wins" from the day... to notice progress - even the small little steps so that it's not only about getting to the "goal"... so many little steps to be taken in between. - Love that shot with a focus on your ring. You are very lucky.

    1. Luck is so subjective. I think I've falled into some great things but I've crawled out of a dark place as well. Its been a wonderful journey and I cant wait to keep moving forward.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to keep track of my blessings!

  23. That last photo is just gorgeous. I value my alone time, too, and find that an evening by myself at home can be so much more stimulating than going out into a crowd.
