The break of dawn is a fragment of the heavens,
It's a peek of what's to come.
Stillness lingered around us,
The crisp air tried to make its way into our bodies,
But we defended ourselves, and cuddled close.
The break of dawn started,
but the clouds hid its beauty.
the sky turned grey and white,
And we thought it was all over before it had even begun.
We wandered over the sand and by the rock pools.
Watching tiny creatures swim by,
and larger ones surf in the distance.
And then it came,
Behind the clouds it rose high.
The day had begun but only now was the sun making its arrival.
and oh what an entrance it made.
Your heavens were displayed in a parade of yellow and gold,
We held each other in the royal light and basked in its goodness.
We watched the day rise above the sea,
And we let Your glory flood over us.
What magic that moment was,
Pure and perfect magic.
What magic that moment was,
Pure and perfect magic.
What a gorgeous set. So lovely.

ReplyDeletelovely! I like all those blue hues too before the actual sun rise, compliments your cute red beanie. I went to watch a sunset with my boyfriend and we thought perhaps we had missed it, until we actually spotted the sun - oops!
ReplyDeletethe pics and the words are beautiful. I love your hat, too.
ReplyDeleteI hardly have the willpower to wake up and shoot the sunrise, but these pictures make me wish I did! The shots of the sun peeking out from behind the clouds are utter perfection.

ReplyDeleteI hope it doesn't strike you as odd but I started to feel tears form as I looked through your photographs. There is something so magical about the texture of water and the way you gaze into it. It's almost like a sense of longing and contentment all gather together at the same time when you're near the ocean.
ReplyDeleteYou've really outdone yourself with these photographs and the matching poetic verse. All I can say is thank you for sharing your soul.
Love, Amy xx
