Oh this place. This beautiful place.
We have a love-hate relationship.
Its walls contain an array of goodness, from smiling children, to yummy market stalls, to tall standing flowers and even a friendly pig called "Kevin Bacon".
But the secret of 'The Grounds' is no longer hidden and in amongst its walls are also an influx of people from all over Sydney coming to enjoy its beauty.
Stephen and I had to wait almost 2 hours to get a table. Usually we would have left (like we have done before) but I was determined to eat here. I didn't want the system to defeat us this time.
Finally our buzzer started to beep and we ran over to our table in eager anticipation. We ordered some juices that came in rustic mason jars and some chicken pot pie that I could smell from a mile away.
I'm unsure when I'll visit the grounds again. I don't think I'll be waiting 2 hours next time. Perhaps a stroll through the markets will have to suffice. Regardless of what happens, I'm happy we waited all that time. We got to spend more time with each other and with the surroundings that enclosed us. Time slowed and in this day and age that is a true blessing.
p.s. Check out another perspective of the day here. Thanks Jane!
